WebWrap your hand around this while someone inside the car turns the wheel left and right. Engine on, engine off, doesn't matter. I like engine off. If anything feels like it's double-jointed as they turn the wheel left and right. like something slips to the side and back, then you have a bad tie rod end. WebApr 23, 2014 · It was to the left, not locked out though. Same thing happens when I turn to the right, but it is more prominent when I turn to the left. I have really only noticed it at lower speeds, when almost fully turned left or right, not during normal turns. I believe the sound does occur in reverse, as well. Car has 7,000 miles on it.
